Riding
Experience the joy of horseback riding on our well-cared-for horses, with 1.5 to 2 hours of saddle time each day. Explore magical trails from sunset mountain rides to scenic beach and forest loops. We can cater to riders of all levels, ensuring a safe, relaxed, and fun environment for everyone.
The Accommodations
You will be staying in 1 of 5 luxury bedrooms with ensuite bath
Experience the best of indoor/outdoor living at Casa Cielo, a unique retreat unlike many homes in CR. Whether you prefer to bask in the comfort of air conditioning behind huge sliding doors or relish the open-air feel with the gentle ocean breeze, this home seamlessly blends with nature. All living areas and bedrooms are equipped with both AC and screens, ensuring a comfortable environment. Conveniently located next to the horse farm.
Schedule
DAILY SCHEDULE:

7 nights of accommodation with 3 daily meals (dinner on arrival day and breakfast on departure day included). One special dinner out in town and a traditional tortilla-making session at the farm.

Daily rides (1.5 to 2 hours) through beautiful beach, mountain, and sunset trails. Bonus horse time includes hanging with the herd, liberty sessions in the round pen, and an option to jump in the arena.

Daily yoga sessions.
FREE DAY (Wednesday):
Spend your day choosing from a variety of adventures: surf lessons at the local beach, an indulgent massage at the beachfront spa, ziplining, fishing, a morning wildlife tour, or our highly recommended full-day tour to a traditional coffee farm, with lunch and a visit to a waterfall—a truly authentic experience.
For intermediate/advanced riders, we can arrange (based on interest) a ride along a nearby 8km stretch of beach—an unforgettable experience.
PLEASE NOTE: Wednesday activities, lunch, and dinner are not included, but we can help customize your plans for the day.

Airport transport is available for an extra fee (price varies depending on group size). Liberia Airport (2.5 hours away) is preferred, or San José (5.5 hours away).

Rental cars are optional, but transport during the retreat is included.

Mckenzie & Kenneth Graham
Four years ago, McKenzie and Kenneth sold everything and moved their family from California to Costa Rica. For McKenzie, the Valley of Punta Islita has been close to her heart for over 30 years.
McKenzie's love for horses began at age four when her parents brought ponies to her birthday. She grew up showjumping and has spent decades learning from top trainers and horses. Today, she blends liberty work, bridleless/bareback riding, and eventing into her daily life with her 16-horse herd.
Her favorite moments are spent simply being among her horses, taking in their beauty as they graze and cantering down the beach with her girls.
With a versatile background, McKenzie offers guests a one-of-a-kind experience in paradise. Whether you prefer a western hybrid, English saddle, or bareback, she accommodates all disciplines. Her horses are trained to ride with a simple snaffle, Hackamore, or bitless bridle.
Kenneth, a certified 500-hour yoga teacher with 25 years of experience, offers oceanfront yoga sessions that are truly one-of-a-kind. Practicing asana with the sound of the waves and horses nearby provides an unforgettable, peaceful experience. He skillfully caters to all levels of practice, ensuring each guest feels supported and inspired.

Culinary Offerings
All meals, along with coffee and tea, are included in your stay (except on Wednesdays) and are thoughtfully prepared by Chef Gabriel Piedra. A highly skilled professional from Costa Rica with over 13 years of experience, Gabriel has honed his craft in luxury hotels, international restaurants, and yachts. He is passionate about exploring new culinary concepts and techniques, drawing inspiration from his travels and collaborations with other chefs. Gabriel incorporates unique, indigenous flavors into his dishes, adding a creative twist to traditional cuisine.
